Supermarket Cashier

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier to join Ijaycee Supermarket. The successful candidate will handle customer payments at the checkout, keep accurate sales records, and support daily till operations at our Idu and Life Camp stores.

The Cashier processes each transaction accurately and efficiently — taking payment, issuing receipts, confirming payments, and giving every shopper a smooth, courteous checkout. You will keep the till accountable and follow company cash-handling procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Process supermarket checkout transactions quickly and accurately.
  • Accept cash, transfer, and card payments and confirm each one before closing the sale.
  • Issue receipts correctly and maintain accurate till records.
  • Resolve customer payment inquiries or discrepancies, escalating when needed.
  • Keep the checkout area tidy and support bagging during busy periods.
  • Follow company policies and security procedures for cash handling.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Basic accounting or till-handling knowledge is preferred.
  • High level of honesty and integrity.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure during peak shopping hours.
